Filmmaking Class

from $25.00

Our filmmaking program draws on professional film school experience to introduce students to the art and craft of visual storytelling. Students explore multiple aspects of filmmaking—including stop motion animation—while learning about the creative and technical roles that power the film industry, from directing and cinematography to editing and sound design. Lessons connect directly to California State Standards in media arts, English language arts, and technology, ensuring students gain both creative expression and academic alignment. Along the way, they’ll discover the exciting career paths available in film, television, animation, and digital media.

Our 12-session Filmmaking Program introduces students to how movies are made, from exploring film history to learning about important roles like directors and editors. Students build storytelling skills through storyboarding, hands-on activities like stop-motion, and creating props to bring their ideas to life. They then use these skills to write and produce their own original short film, which is showcased at a fun Teeny Film Festival. Students will leave with a folder of their work and a flash drive with their completed digital film project.

The filmmaking classes can be modified and fit to students who want to keep learning and making movies. This is the first set and as parents continue their students continue to grow with the program.
